JLYSL Referee Mentor Program

The primary objective is to assist Referees improve their skills and to be able to:
1. Move from Assistant Referee (AR) to Center Referee (CR)
2. Feel comfortable doing either AR or CR for Recreational and/or Competitive Matches.
We are still rebuilding our Referee pool due to departures during/after COVID for various reasons. That made it obvious that JLYSL needed a Referee Development Program that includes the Mentor Program to help rebuild our league coverage.
We have setup SportLynx to allow a Referee Mentor to serve as CR or AR and also be the assigned as the game Mentor.  Or the Mentor can be a sideline observer.  Either setup is paid role.
The Mentors will give Mentees an evaluation and positive feedback with regards to where to focus to increase their referee rating.
John Richer is the JLYSL Referee Development coordinator and can be reached at:  [email protected].  Please reach out to John if you would like to be a part of this program - either as Mentee or Mentor.  John will work with your schedule and the available games to make Mentee/Mentor pairings.
