2008 MASTER TRYOUT SCHEDULE FOR CLASS I & III
This is the second year that JLYSSL has coordinated a Master Schedule for all its Class 1 and Class 3 clubs/programs.
The Jack London Class 1 Competitive Program (BayOaks) and Class 3 Select Programs (Montclair, Oakland, Rockridge, Grass Valley, Alameda and Piedmont) are offering opportunities for players to try their luck to make their U9 to U19 team. All interested players and their parents can find out more about the tryouts for all clubs at a single-site.
Please mark your calendars on April 12, 2008. Bay Oaks will hold a fundraiser to help support players for the upcoming 2008 season. They will be selling tickets to the San Jose Earthquakes home opener vs. the Chicago Fire at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland. For more information go to http://bayoaks.net/quakes

Help the Friends of Oakland Parks
Raimondi Lighted Artificial Turf Field Project
Donate today to Raimondi Fields Artificial Turf and Sports Lights Renovation to help build a new, lighted, maintenance free artificial turf soccer field. Construction is to begin Sept. 2007 and additional funds are needed to light the second field. Donate online at <http://www.oaklandparks.org>
Scroll down to the Raimondi Park area to make your donation and note sports lights for soccer fields. Or make a check payable to Friends of Oakland Parks and Recreation and send to P.O. Box 13267, Oakland, CA 94661. Please note Raimondi Park sports lights for soccer fields on the memo line of the check.
In addition to your own donations to the Raimondi lighted artificial turf project, we are hoping you will take the time to write a letter soliciting donations for a second set of lights for Raimondi Fields to your employer, a potential corporate donor, or an Oakland business that might want to improve youth sports and programs in Oakland.
Donations should be made to Friends of Oakland Parks and Recreation, the non-profit organization that has spearheaded this project. Oakland youth need more and better sports fields. This is our opportunity to show our kids that we care. Help Friends of Oakland Parks and Rec build this beautiful new facility now! Your own donation to Friends of Oakland Parks and Rec will go a long way to hasten Raimondi's completion. Please donate today. And please find a corporate and business donor, too.

An open letter to the Jack London Soccer Community
