We are excited to announce that Jack London Youth Soccer league has partnered with Oakland Roots, the new professional soccer team that is launching this fall!
What this means for the members in our programs:
We will also have a number of marketing elements that align our club with Oakland Roots on their website and in their stadium. Additionally, a Roots player will attend a club event in the future for an autograph signing and interactive experience with the kids in our programs.
If you haven’t already made plans for this Sunday, July 7th, Oakland Roots would like to invite you to the Soccer Without Borders Fundraiser, Women’s World Cup Finals Viewing Party! Everyone will be gathering at Grand Lake Theatre (3200 Grand Ave in Oakland) at 8:00am to watch the first ever live stream on the ‘big screen’ and suggested donation is $10.
This is a tremendous opportunity to work with an organization that truly cares about the soccer community. The co-founders for this team both grew up in Oakland, and they have a vision to help build our community through soccer. Here’s what Oakland Roots, co-founder and President, Benno Nagel, had to say about that vision and this partnership:
We’re thrilled to team up with clubs in our local community. Too often, youth partners are seen as profit centers for professional sports teams, and the relationships are usually geared solely towards that model. Our approach has been centered completely on providing affordable options to youth soccer players and their families at no cost to our partner clubs.
Our goal is to enhance and support the amazing work already being done by countless volunteers, coaches, team managers, referees, and Board members of the organizations we are partnering with. We see these partnerships as the beginning of Oakland Roots doing something special in our community through inclusion and collaboration while nurturing the next generation of young people in this community through soccer. We thank each of these partners for sharing that common goal, and allowing us the opportunity to listen, learn, and lend ourselves however we can to achieve that unifying objective.
This team cares about the East Bay soccer community, and we can’t wait to support them this season and beyond. For more information about the team, check them out at www.oaklandrootssc.com! You can also follow them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
